30 year timeline dental record

What does Nintendo, Microsoft Windows and The Dental Record have in common? DDR 30 yearAll three have evolved and are celebrating 30 years in business this year.

The Dental Record was created in 1985 to provide dentists with a quality dental record-keeping system.

Since its inception, the Dental Record team has been gaining traction in the industry and has earned a reputation among dental practices as an excellent solution with an energetic and knowledgeable service team.

It all began with a three-year research study of existing dental records. A disturbing fact was uncovered – most dental records were inadequate, outdated and disorganized. A dentist serving on the Wisconsin Dental Association Quality Assurance Committee spent a year defining the specific components, functions, characteristics, format and legalities of a quality dental record.

As a service to WDA members, an easy-to-use record-keeping system was developed and subjected to extensive clinical testing before being introduced.

After an overwhelming positive response in Wisconsin, The Dental Record went national. Thousands of dentists across the country incorporated The Dental Record’s products into their practices. They reported ease of use, low malpractice risk and an increase in office productivity.

While it is important to remember the beginning, the 30th anniversary also marks a new era. The Dental Record is introducing The Digital Dental Record, offered through the WDA Insurance and Services Corp.’s Professional Services Division. It features digital business solutions focused on improving the workflow in a dental office.

“It is our goal to provide WDA members with digital practice solutions that will increase productivity and efficiency at a fraction of the cost of the competition,” WDA Insurance and Services Corp. Director of Operations Steve Newton said.
